NORBURY, Jessie
August 20, 1996 – October 18, 2011
After fighting a four year battle with incredible grace and strength, Jessie passed away peacefully with her family by her side. Loving Daughter of Renee and Jim Norbury, and loving sister of Eric. Loving Granddaughter of Donna and Gerry Pongratz and Gloria (1995) and Ron Norbury. Loving Great-Granddaughter of Mary Jane (2008) and Don Dresser. Loving Niece and Cousin to many. Jessie was a Student at STA and will be dearly missed by many friends and Classmates. Jessie made all of our worlds a better place. The world has lost a very bright light. She was very inspirational to everyone who knew her. Visitation will be held at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Thursday, October 27th, 2011 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. where Jessie’s Life Celebration Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers – The Norbury Family would greatly appreciate donations to your choice of ChildCan, The Children’s Health Foundation or the Make-a-Wish Foundation of Southwestern Ontario. Special thanks go to the Doctors, Nurses and all the staff at Children’s Hospital in London and the 8B staff at Sick Kids. Online condolences available at >www.westviewfuneralchapel.com

With sadness that I happened upon this today. Having known Jim during our youth, I'm sure there is great heaviness in the Norbury family but great support and love as well. I send you good wishes and support.
We were blessed to know Jessie. Words are inadequate, we are so very sad at your loss.
Jim, Renee & Eric, Thank you for allowing me into your lives through the updates on Caring Bridge. Jessie may no longer be on earth physically, but her spirit is still here! My thoughts and prayers are with you all, Rhonda
Renee, Jim & Eric, you have been in our thoughts and prayers for the past 5 years and will continue to be. Jessie was a gem. I will never forget the summer that I was at my worse with cancer and Jessie and our boys kept us laughing at baseball. Jessie left this world as a hero to the many children that she has helped and will continue to help through her relentless message of childhood cancer. Thank you for sharing Jessie, truly the good do die young Jeanne, Terry, Aaron, Cal, Brooks & Nolan McDonnell
Dear Jim, Renee & Eric, My family and I are so sorry to hear of Jessie’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Jessie was inspirational and truly had one of the brightest hearts in the world, lucky for heaven she can now shine as the brightest angel. I still remember all those days Jessie and I spent in Art Therapy and how happy we use to be when we had treatment on the same day. I remember when she and I got chosen by Dr. Zelcer to shave heads at Western. We had such a good time shaving the medical student’s heads. We were even both brave enough to take off our hats in front of a crowded room full of people. I know that Jessie was one of the strongest fighters out there. I am proud to have battled cancer with her and I am so lucky to have had her enter my life. All I can say for all of us cancer kids is that cancer sucks…JESSIE ROCKS! ♥ - Sara Fell
Renee, Jim and Eric you are in our hearts and our prayers. Jesse will always be looking over you with much love.
Dear Norbury Family, We are so sorry to hear of Jessie’s passing and would like to express our deepest sympathy in your loss. We loved and looked forward to seeing Jessie and her beautiful smile at swim practice and missed her when she wasn’t there. Her determination, perseverance, laughter and her ability to always being positive no matter what she faced, was truly an inspiration to everyone around her. We are extremely thankful to have had the chance to coach and get to know Jessie. She did things her way and for that we will always remember her. Our thoughts are with you and your family. We were very saddened to hear of Jessie's passing. Our daughter was in grade 12 at STA and just passed away 3 weeks ago. We know your heartache and pain, but know that Jessie is in a happier place and is now your guardian angel looking over you. The staff and students at STA have been a great support system for us, so let them help you as you go through this rough time ahead. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and remember its never good-bye, only farewell. Hope this finds you some peace in the next few weeks ahead. Take care and we are thinking about you.
Jim, Renee and Eric, We are heart broken about Jessie earning her angel wings. Thank you for sharing Jessie with us and for having all of you in our lives. You are an incredible and inspirational family and we are blessed to call you friends. We can only hope that our girls will turn out as wonderfully as Jessie has. We won't say goodby to Jessie, because the beautiful young lady she is and all of things she has accomplished and the many people she has inspired, will stay in our hearts forever!!
