Reva Eileen Yates

1924-2011 – Peacefully with her family by her side at Marian Villa, London, on Monday, May 9^th, 2011 in her 88^th year. Beloved wife of 61 years to Graham Yates. Loving mother of Bob Yates, Brian Yates, Barb Glover (Al), and Bev van der Heide (Rick). Cherished grandmother of Adam, Lauren, Kelly, Acasia, Sarah, Chelsea and Matthew. Loving daughter of William and Edith Penny. Reva was born on a dairy farm in Markham Township on March 3^rd, 1924 where she spent all of her early years. In the summer of 1950, she relocated to London where her husband accepted a job with Ontario Hydro. Reva’s life was her family; all four children were born and lovingly raised in London. Reva believed strongly in the value of education. While raising her four children she returned to school to complete her B.A. (English) at UWO and her B. Ed. from Althouse College. Upon graduation, Reva accepted a position as a librarian at UWO in the Faculty of Engineering. Reva had many interests; some of her favourites included gardening, literature, dancing, music, writing, travel, crafts and cats. Thank you to the staff of Marian Villa – 5^th Floor for their loving care. Dr. Cavanaugh – we will always be grateful for your guidance and compassion. To Reva’s guardian angels, Cheryl Pryde, Christine Alves, Cheryl LeMay and Darcy Ward – thank you. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the funeral service will be conducted on Friday, May 13^th, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Woodland Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Reva are asked to consider the London Humane Society, Canadian Cancer Society or the Salthaven Animal Rescue.
