STARK, Helene Maria – Peacefully at Kensington Village on March 31, 2011, in her 83rd year, Helene Maria (Schweda) Stark was taken from her family to go home with God.  She will be sadly missed by her sons:  Martin and his wife Betty (Elizabeth) and Jim and his wife Jane; her grandchildren:  Kevin and his wife Jen, Renea and her husband Jamie, Shawn and his wife Elisabeth, Amanda, Becky and Vance and his partner Sandi; as well as by her great-grandchildren:  Rachel, Jay, Brooke, Brianna and Jaclyn.  She will also be sadly missed by her family in Germany, her extended family in Canada and her friend Nancy Feaver.  Predeceased by her husband Vernon (2004).  Helene was a long-time employee of the University of Western Ontario.  Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the funeral service will be conducted on Monday, April 4th, 2011 at 1:00 p.m.  Interment, Oakland Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations to London Health Sciences – Cancer Centre or to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

To The Stark Family You are all in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. Aunt Helene was an amazing and kind lady who always welcomed me in to her home with open arms and I always looked forward to seeing her . May the wonderful memories you have of her give you strengh. Love Lovis

well, we could not be further away geographically-yet feel more closely emotionally with you all at this time of sorrow and celabration ---I have so many fond memories of the early days of aunty helene trying to adjust to canadian life -picadilly street--regent street--dealing with martin as a precosious baby and with jim who surprisngly just lay there and ate--mum had a special place in her heart for aunty helene and we also grew up to think she was pretty special ourselves-shed tears of course but smile-cheer- and shout aloud about your mum guys-she deserves a great sendoff--g'day from the back of beyond--terry and Jill

Helene we shared some very good chats over many years and some of your good cooking too. One recipe in particular your plum/apple cake is one that I have carried on the tradition to my family. One in particular a grandson in Edmonton who loves that cake more than anything. You will be remembered for years to come with the traditions that you passed on to the family. You will be remembered and shared with family and friends who never got to meet you. Now that you are with Vern, may you rest in peace for eternity.
