Mian Majid

MAJID, Mian A. (Maj) – Born in Kashmir on September 23, 1923, Mian (Maj) Majid died peacefully at Dearness Home in London, on March 25th, 2011.  Maj was a former employee of Dow Chemical in Sarnia for many years.  Lovingly remembered by his children Qaiser of Sarnia and Sikander (Marie Theresa) of Ottawa, and their mother Jean Yasmeen Majid.  Grandfather of David, Adam and Claire.  Dear brother of General Qayoom, General Samie (deceased), Dr. Jameela, Dr. Zahida, Waheed, Saeeda, Farkhanda, Zia, Nani and Gul (deceased).  Also survived by many nieces and nephews throughout the world.  Cremation has taken place.  A memorial service will bt held at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 12:00 p.m.  with visitation one hour prior to the service. If desired, donations may be made to Doctors Without Borders, P.O. Box 26399 Stn. K, Toronto, ON M7Y 4R1.  The family wishes to thank the staff of Dearness Home for their excellent care over the last few years and also to the many Doctors and Dentists who have also cared for him.

Never an easy task to say Good Bye, but.... I have known Maj socially and professionally. Socially there was no better host. His parties are what legends are made of. Professionally, he crossed every T and dotted every I. Maj, rest in PEACE. You are and will be missed. God Bless ...Jaggi and Tej.
