Marjorie Miller

August 17, 2010

MILLER, Marjorie – It is with deep sadness we announce that on August 17, 2010 Marjorie Eleanor Miller (Robinson) passed suddenly, at Victoria Hospital, surrounded by her children.  Marjorie is survived by her loyal and devoted husband Kenneth Edward Miller, they celebrated a marriage of 64 years.  She is predeceased by her parents, Fraser Samuel Robinson and Mary Ethel Robinson (Martin).  She is survived by brother Dr. Martin Robinson of London, sister Rev. Eileen Stewart-Rhude of Oakville and many nieces and nephews.  Marjorie was the precious mother of David Miller of London; Dannie Miller with wife Debbie (Pope) and son Jordan of Burlington; Margo Miller of London; Marcia (Miller) Havaris with husband Christos and daughters Angelina, Christalina, and Demetria of London; and Jonathan Miller of London.  Marjorie dedicated her love and passion for life not only to her family but also to the teaching of piano and to the hundreds of students who will miss her for the life-long friendships they developed.  Marjorie’s profound spiritual faith and indomitable spirit provided a stalwart source of strength for everyone her life touched, and will live on through the legacy she has left with us all… she will be in our hearts forever.  At Marjorie’s request, a private family funeral service and interment is being held.

Dear David, Danny, Margo, Marcia and Jonathan, I just heard about your Mom - Oh, the memories that came flooding back . We all had such wonderful times when Dad, Mom and I lived at the corner. The ice rink in your back yard and the hot chocolate your Mom would make for us: the board games in your dining room with both sets of parents playing; just to mention a few. I'm living in Kitchener now, and don't have your addresses, but will try and get one from Doug or Don. Ken and Dave, you were there for me through my Dad and Mom's passing, so if there is anything I can do, please let me know. I'm sorry for the delay in writing, as I just arrived home from the West Coast. Love, Beverley

~ Beverley Salton

Dear Miller family, My condolences to you all. What wonderful memories you must have. At the age of 4 I began piano lessons with Mrs. Miller. I couldn't read but seemed to learn quickly. Your mother and wife was such an excellent teacher. Thankyou for supporting her in her career. I can't emphasize enough what a blessing it was to be her student. Disciplined teaching with LOVE is how I would describe her. Thankyou too to the friendship I had with Margo and Marcia growing up. She will be in our hearts forever. Helen

To Ken, David, Danny, Margo and Marcia and families, I have such wonderful memories of my dear friend Marg. How she helped me with my struggle as a new immigrant from Holland to your neighbourhood. Often she would call me in the morning to come over for a cup of coffee and fresh baked cookies. She introduced me to "Canadian" living. She was an angel to me in my new life in Canada. Came to Canada in 1954 lived in Byron in 1959. When I was expecting my fourth child, Joyce, she asked me over and to my surprise and delight she opened her dresser draw and offered me a pretty nightgown to take to the hospital. This was such a surprise and very generous and unexpected. That memory of that gesture has stayed with me all those years. She helped me with speaking English, always in a kind and gentle way. Many years have passed since but I will never forget how she made an impact in my life as a dear friend and her love for the Lord. Now she is resting in His presence. Love to you all Minnie

Margo, I was so sorry to hear about your mom. Marjorie was the sweetest woman. I always loved to talk to her on the phone and see her in person at the office. No matter how she was feeling she always asked how my family was doing . I will miss her too. My condolences go out to your family at this sad time.

My condolences to Mrs Miller's family. I met Mrs Miller as an 11-year-old piano student. She soon learned that I liked Orange Crush and would have a can ready for me at my lessons along with a special pencil when I completed learning a new piano piece. I will always have fond memories of her thoughtfulness and generosity. My prayers are with the family during this difficult time.

~ Maryanne

My condolences go out to all of the family members. Eventhough I was only 2 when we moved from being your neighbour I have some fond memories of visiting your family later on in my life and I went to visit your mom one night when my son was playing soccer in the area. She welcomed me into their home and we had such a nice visit. My siblings have spoken of all of you and your parents often in my life and my mother was also greatful for the kindness your family showed to her since she was a new immigrant and she felt accepted into the neighbourhood will love. I know you will miss your mother as I miss my father who passed away in 1999 however, we have the hope of seeing them one day in heaven. May the Lord comfort all of you during this sad time in your life. Your mother had an impact on many people in her life - she was a good and faithful servant.

To Marjorie's family I am so sad to hear that Marjorie has passed away. I am so glad to have the chance to tell you what a wonderful person she was. I met Marjorie when I started to work for Dr. David Wach. I was his assistant 3 days a week. She would always come into the office with a smile even as she got more frail. She was always concerned with how everyone else was doing and she was very sincere. I will miss her and she will always have a special place in my heart. I know you must all recognize what a blessing she was in your life, I just wanted you all to know that I too was blessed to know her. Know that all of you are in my thoughts and prayers at this time as I thank God for the gift of Marjorie. Colleen Gruggen
