Dear Mahler Family: I had the good fortune of working with Chrissy both at the Hyde Park Road location as well as as the present office on York St. until her retirement. Chris was always a breath of fresh air with her smile and "no worries" approach to life. We would often exchange stories about my soccer mom activities as she fondly recollected the extra curricular activities of Mike and Nicole (Nikky). When the "twins" arrived, she was so excited and thankful. And every year she proudly shared the fact that John has presented her with lovely flowers and chocolate on the occasion of Valentine's Day (as she said: "John has never missed a year"). As I think of her, I smile and imagine her walking down the hallway to get yet another cup of tea. My deepest condolences to all of you.
Dear Mahler Family: So very sorry for your great loss. I worked with Chris at the Hyde Park Road office and I will always remember her kindness and generous spirit. When I could not afford to buy ski boots for my son, Chris would bring in Michael's boots and ski equipment (and she did this for many years). An other happy memory I have is Chris and huge Christmas trees (we both loved really big Christmas trees) and taking off her front storm door for the wreath. These memories I will always remember and cherish.
Dear John, Nicki, Mike and Stephanie, I was so sorry to hear of Chris's passing. Though an ocean separated us, I always felt close to her. We kept in touch over the years by telephone calls and visits - sadly too infrequent. Hearing her happy voice on the phone saying "Hiya kid, how you doing" always cheered me up. I have many memories of our childhood here in the East coast of Scotland, but my most vivid is of her sitting on her Gran's garden wall eating a large juicy orange - talking, laughing and juice dripping everywhere, she was such a messy kid! Chris was many things to many people - Wife, Mum, Gran, Work mate and Friend. To me she will always be "Tina" the girl I loved as a Sister. She will be so sadly missed. .
I was greatly saddened to read of Chris' passing. I worked with Chris for five years at the Ministry of Education office. Although I was in a different division, I consulted with her on numerous occasions and found her knowledge and her ability to apply that knowledge always impressive. She was most helpful to me. However, my best memories of working with Chris are of her wonderful, cheerful, manner and positive outlook. It was a privilege to know her.
I have had the pleasure of being Chis's hairsylist for more years than either of us would confess. Beauty is truly a word I would use to describe Chris, I could apply it to all of her fine attributes but mostly to her love for her family. She loved all of you so well. I truly looked forward to seeing her smiling face, and hearing about the latest chapter in her life. We would discuss anything and everything. We would also enjoyed more than a few jokes over the many years. I loved her company, humor, strength and spirit. I will sicerley miss her. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Nicole, Mike and Mr. Mahler, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Your mother/wife was a dynamo! I seem to recall a night involving wine and cigarettes - (of course we would never smoke in public) and I believe I have ocular proof in the form of photographs. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time.
John, Mike, and Nicole, we are so saddened to hear of Christine's passing. Our condolences to all of you.
John, Mike and Nichole, we are sorry to here of your great loss. Chris was a great lady and will be missed by us all. We saw her less than a month ago and really didn't have time to talk, regretfully. Please feel free to count on us for any support we can offer. Drop in or email anytime.
Dear Mahler family........I am so sorry for the loss of your Wife, Mom, Grandmother and a friend to many. I worked with Chris at the Hyde Park Office for many years. My fonest memory is of our Sunday morning walks through Springbank Park. And, no she didn't wear her high heels. My greatest regret is not keeping in touch with Chris when I moved from Bryon. Take good care of each other.
I will always remember Chris as a lovely, lovely lady with such a soft demenour. I worked with Chris at the Hyde Park Office (M. of Ed.). I am so saddened to hear of her passing. My condolences to you, John, and your family on your loss.
Sorry for your loss..Old Byron Hockey buddy of Mikes(wheels). Our thoughts are with you and your family..
Our sincere condolences John to you and your family on the loss of your beloved wife Chris. May cherished memories help to bring some comfort at this time.
Thinking of you all during this difficult time. I worked with Chris out at the Hyde Park Road office and then again downtown. She was one of my EDU "Moms" back when I started at Hyde Park - I can still hear her laughing and saying "Hey Lynnie" or "Hey Kiddo". We'll all miss her very much.
Oh Mahler Family, so hard, just so hard. Chris was the best "work sister" I ever had. We solved all the problems of our job, our families, and the world, walking in those high heels and talking. Oh those good times in hotel rooms throughout southern Ontario; adjoining rooms with Chris's kettle. She looked so good in that red Thunderbird that just decided to quit sometimes; we'd park at the side of the road, laugh a bit, and move on. The memories of Nikki and that darn house on Essex, Michael's report card when the teacher lied or when he told his mom "she's the one" when he met Stephanie, the beauties that lit up her life, and John reminding me that cars work better when they actually have gas in them. I am smiling now just remembering. Peace be with you all.
Nicki, Michael and Stephanie, your Mom was a Great Lady and we have had many happy conversations over the years that you and my girls were growing up in Byron. Our sincere sympathies to you and your family at this time, Phyllis and Joe Allgrove

I worked with Christine many years ago when she helped out Marg Clark at Keycontact Directories. I had a close relationship with Marg and Richard and I know how much he adored her and admired her. Christine was a caring and funny lady who made everyone feel comfortable and among friends. She was smart, witty and she showed great determination when getting her designation while working and raising a family. I always admired Chris and I was shocked to see her name in the newspaper today. I have not talked to her in many years but I never drove through Byron without remembering her. Please know that many people will be remembering Christine with fondness and will be sorry to know that she is gone. I know how much she loved her kids and her husband, I can only imagine how much she loved her grandchildren. I am really sorry for your loss.
Sincere regrets for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Nicole, Michael and Stephanie, your Mom was a great lady and I have had many happy conversations over the years while you and my girls were growing up in Byron. My sincere sympathies are with you at this time.
Dear Mr. Mahler, Nicki & Mike, I am very sorry to hear of your Wife's/Mum's passing. Your Mum was a really, really nice lady. My memories of her are of a great Mum who had a witty sense of humour, always had a smile on her face, she wore high heels no matter what the occassion and drove a really big car.......at least she did when we were just kids. Nic used to joke that her Mum needed a few phone books to sit on to see over the steering wheel. Those are just a few of the things that come to mind when I think of your Mum. You will be in my thoughts during this difficult time and I know the memories you have of her will always bring a smile to your face. Deepest sympathies to you and all your family.
Chris was a consummate professional. Always gentle, patient and most helpful, and thoroughly knowledgeable about her chosen career. One could always rely on her to provide sound advice and critical comments when dealing with financial matters. She was well liked by her colleagues and management. Her gentleness and lovely smile always lit any room into which she walked. This how I want to remember Chris Mahler. While she will be missed by family and friends, I hope that memories of better days will assist others along the sometimes arduous path of life. I offer sincere condolences on her departure. M. F. Cyze, Regional Director of Education (retired)
