Felix, Nelly

Felix, Nelly

August 21st, 2019

After an almost 30 year battle with breast cancer, the strongest woman we know left us on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Victoria Hospital, at the age of 79. Nelly fought right until the very end, surpassing all definitions of strength and willpower; she defied the odds numerous times. Nelly was born in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Loving mother of Nancy (Steve) and Irene (Mike). Beloved Oma of Rebecca, Alexander (Penny), Laura and Eric (Jaiden). Dear sister of Marry, Joop (Haydee) and Kees (Janie). Also loved by her many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Predeceased by her parents Melchior and Neeltje, and by her brother Ton. A funeral service will be conducted at TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 746 Colborne Street, London, on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior. Interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Nelly are asked to consider the London Regional Cancer Program, the Canadian Cancer Society, the London Public Library or the T.L. Ristine Bursary Fund at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Book of Condolences

Barb McGeeI worked with Nellie at London Life. I found her to be very contentious and a hard worker. My condolences to her family.
Deborah HolmeDear Nancy, Irene & families, So sorry to hear about your mom. Unfortunately I cannot attend the funeral service. I always loved your mom's laughter, and I admired her strength and fortitude towards life. She will be missed by many. God's blessings and peace to you all during this time of loss. Deb Holme
Reinhard HelbingNelly was a real and very reliable volunteer helper in our interdenominational Northern Hospitality program for the less fortunate. I will miss picking her up at her apartment building for this "kitchen duty" and driving her home afterwards. In our discussions I admired her outlook on life and her deep faith. My deeply felt condolences to her whole family! May she rest in peace! -- Reinhard
Vivian ParkerIn all the years I have known Nellie, I never heard an unkind word from her nor any complaints about anything. She always had a smile and a laugh for you when you talked to her. She was a great "pillar" of faith and Trinity has lost a "saint " for sure. She will always be missed by many. May the peace of God be with all her family as they say farewell. Vivian
