Elizabeth SeldonDicky Dean the Magician performed at my house on June 22, 1989 for my daughter's sixth birthday party. He was an absolute hit with the kids and adults! Many years later....approximately 2010 or 2011....he was doing a Muskoka circuit and appeared at Patterson-Kaye Lodge in Bracebridge! How fabulous to put smiles on SO many faces over SO many years! Thank you!

We are proud of his contribution's to the art of magic and sleight-of-hand as he brought great joy to the lives of many through his performances. His passing is a loss, however, the impact of his life will always be remembered.

Joan (Bonner) WettlauferI am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Dean, my Grade 8 teacher at Sir Winston Churchill Public School. Mr. Dean was devoted, hard-working, and very creative (I remember one time he threw a snowball at the chalkboard, then simply said, "There! Now go write a story about that!"). He often performed little magic tricks for us. Mr. Dean never called me by my first name but always addressed me as "Miss Bonner". He was also a real stickler for grammar! I enjoyed being in his class very much and, 47 years later, have fond memories. Sending my deepest sympathy to the family.
Sonya SchweigerFeeling great sadness at the news of Mr. Dean’s passing and wishing to express my deepest condolences to his family. He was my Grade 8 teacher at Sir Winston Churchill and one of my most influential educators. I remember his magic tricks with ropes that he once used as a writing motivator. His written feedback was always encouraging and fostered a life long love of writing. Looking back, I feel he was ahead of his time. Kind, humorous, and magical...that is how I will choose to remember him. Oh, and a role I became a teacher myself. May your memories bring love and light to you at this difficult time.
Bruce ShielsIt is with great sorrow when I heard of Mr Deans passing. As a student of his in the 6th and 7th grade at Glen Cairn elementary school,he was my most remembered teacher and inspiration. He always made me feel important. He inspired me and kept me inline and on track. I believe my going on to a very successful career was directly due to his patience and persistence with me. A great man who will truly be missed. To Marg and son Bruce please know you are all in my prayers
