Ruskin, Audrey Winn Pooler

January 7th, 2019

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Audrey Winn Pooler Ruskin on Monday, January 7, 2019, at the age of 86. Audrey lived and raised her family in Crystal Beach, Ontario, and moved to London in 1996 to live with her daughter and family. She will be missed and eternally loved by her children Carla (Adam) Kmety, Gary (Heather) Pooler, Dan (Cindy) Pooler, Leslie (Mark) Linnell, and Lisa (Jeff) Fischer, 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 5 step-children and their families, including Carolyn Ruskin. Predeceased by son Billy (1976), and husbands Roy Pooler (1967) and Bernard Ruskin (1989). The family would like to thank Dr. Cathy Faulds for her exceptional care over many years, and the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at Parkwood, who treated Audrey with such kindness. Cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m., where a Celebration of Life will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. An additional family celebration will be held at a later date in Fort Erie, Ontario. Audrey lived by example through her faith, kindness, selflessness and dedication to her family. She was our beacon of strength and source of unconditional love to us all. In lieu of flowers, please consider an act of kindness in Audrey’s memory.

Ian WatsonI could not think of a more fitting request. Please consider an act of kindness in her memory. That is amazing. She did acts of kindness her whole life. What an amazing request. I am sure she would love us all to do just that. An amazing woman I was glad to know and proud to be related to. They don't make them like her anymore. IMHO. Bless.
gloria reeceAs I sit here to-day thinking about Audrey I am proud to have had a sister-in-law like Audrey. We lost track over the years but I know her thoughts were always there. I too am very sorry for your loss. She was a very special lady.
Margaret OpatovskyThinking of all of you today. Audrey is in our hearts and I hope you and she will be pleased to know that we are trying to remember to do acts of kindness daily. God bless.
Stewart LockhartMichelle and I will miss our backyard neighbour visits with Audrey. Audrey was a very special lady and will be missed by many people. Our prayers are with the Fischer family.
Donna Ruskin HambleySadly, I have not connected with Audrey for several years; however, she has always been in my thoughts. A lovely, strong woman, she was a great mentor to her children. I am proud that Audrey became part of the Ruskin family. Audrey had many enviable strenghts. She perfected her array of crafts as well as being a life long learner. Most memorable was her amazing speed that she could organize a picnic for eleven children or a two week camping vacation. I wonder if "Bear Behind Mommy Trail" is still in Algonquin Park. God Bless you Audrey.
