Peacefully on Friday, April 13th, 2018, at his home at peopleCare Oakcrossing, London in his 98th year. Predeceased by his wife Grace (2005), and two sisters in England, Margaret (Stan) and Joan (Fred). Clive was a British Army veteran who was born and grew up in Huddersfield, England, served in North Africa, and was evacuated from Dunkirk. After the war, he came to Canada where he met his future wife Grace. After their marriage, they resided in Byron for many years. Clive was the Night Composing Room Foreman at the London Free Press for many years. Several years after his wife’s passing, he moved to two retirement residences and then later moved into two extended care facilities. He will be sadly missed by his best friends Elizabeth and Harold Merton, his cousins and a number of nieces and nephews. Clive is survived by his cousins Karen and Peter Smith of London, and his nephews Stephen Crowther (Michele) and Robert Crowther (Jean) of England. In Grace’s family, he was a loved uncle of Lynda Ward (Allan), Susan Morrison (David), David Harley (Valerie), and Ruth Talbot (John). Cremation has taken place. In accordance with Clive’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. An interment will be held at WOODLAND CEMETERY, 493 Springbank Drive, London on Thursday, May 3rd, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Clive are asked to consider Diabetes Canada, Lung Cancer Canada or a charity of your choice.
