Boos, Jean

Boos, Jean

July 22nd, 2017

Just weeks from her 90th birthday, Jean Boos, formerly of Essex, Ontario, passed peacefully at Mount Hope Centre for Long Term Care in London. Jean was born to Ruth (Laird) and Eldon Graham. She was pre-deceased by siblings Jamie, Annabel and Isobel (`Sug`) and husband, Bernard. Jean is survived by children Ruth-Ann, Mary, Margaret and Stephen (Diane); grandchildren Michael (Kandace) and Christine; and great-grandchildren Caleb and Junia. Jean had a passion for picking (fruits & vegetables), playing (Windsor Light Opera), ushering (just about every theatre in Windsor and Detroit) and driving (many cars worn out). In addition to being a mother and wife, she also worked as a bookkeeper for several decades. Jean spent her last five years at Mount Hope where she received incredible care by very kind-hearted and capable medical and assistive staff. They are highly esteemed, deeply appreciated and will be long remembered by her family. A memorial service will be held at Forest City Community Church, 3725 Bostwick Road, London, on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. An interment will follow in Essex in the fall - details will be posted when available. Memorial donations can be made to Mount Hope (St. Joseph's Health Care Foundation- London), St. Paul`s Anglican Church (Essex), or the Roman Catholic Diocese of London.

Diane PuchyrJean was such a great friend of my mom's! WhenI was growing up, Jean would make the trip to Detroit bringing with her boxes of strawberries and her precious buttered tarts! She worked as hard giving away her fruits of labor as she did picking the berries and baking the tarts. She had this laugh that came from her feet. She always looked at the bright side of things! Jean and my mom went out for something to eat frequently, enjoying long visits and many laughs!o She loved to shop! She would take my mom with her to the store trying to find things she couldn't get in Canada. It was like a scavenger hunt! You will be missed, Jean! You and your family are in our prayers!
The Marshall Family (from Windsor Light)Thank-you Jeannie for all of the wonderful years you gave to Windsor Light and our family. You always encouraged the young members and your butter tarts were a delight. You will be missed. Sympathies to all of your family. Love & Hugs Bev & Norm, Lacey, Rachael and family
IlkaMy sincere condolences to all of Jean's family and especially Ruth Ann. You were a caring and devoted daughter for so many years, travelling often between cities at short notice to do whatever was necessary to make Jean's life easier. Losing your Mother is a very sad time for all of you. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
NancyHarriesAll of us in the van Steenburgh family remember your mom Jean Boos, with fondness. She was a force to be reckoned with! I recall her driving to my (and Jim's) wedding at our cottage in 1978 arriving late at night, and, not wanting to wake the family, Jean slept in her car til she saw people up in the cottage. Also she had brought the wedding cake! Our condolences to you all. Our mothers were cousins, good friends and leave us with wonderful memories.
SherI'm very sorry to hear of your mothers passing. Wishing you peace knowing that you were a loving, caring daughter for your mom. My thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with you.
