Book of Condolences

Isabel'...where there are no words ..know the silences are carrying the prayers of all who cared deeply for Mark...' my heart breaks for your loss, my most sincere condolences at this difficult time.
MarthaMy heart is so heavy with this news. I remember Mark as someone at 3M who was always present when volunteers were called upon to help; to help make an event extra special and to remind us that it's not just about the work you do from 9-5 - but how you make people feel along the way. He always had a smile or a joke and his lovely spirit will live on - I'm sure of that. My sincere condolences to Mark's family. Please know your son was so revered at 3M and set an example for all of us. I wish there was some way to ease the pain I'm sure overwhelms you now. "The flame that burns twice as bright - burns half as long" - Lao Tzu. God bless you Mark.

GrahamI have so many found memories of Mark from volunteering as a chef at our 3M BBQs, organizing a bus trip to New York City, helping new employees and as our eminent Santa Claus. Mark took that role on several years ago when our previous Santa retired as it was a perfect fit even if the suit might not have been. He took that role so seriously so make sure each and every child had the experience they were looking for. Each child and there were hundreds, received the same laugh, smile and love from a gentle humble man. At work Mark was a professional, his work ethic second to none and to be on a project with him meant that things would happen. When I recently retired Mark came to my desk and we had a nice long chat. It is a memory I will cherish forever. I hope to one day see you again my friend. God Bless
Frans HardjasaRon, Marg and Jeff, My deepest sympathy on your sudden loss. Hope all of you are given strength at this difficult and painful time and may Mark rest in peace.
brian CoulbeckMy condolences to the Howard family on their loss. My prayers and thoughts are with you. I grew up with Mark through public school and high school, as many others have as well. This is a loss for everyone.
BrianMy heartfelt sympathies to the Howard family on your loss of a truly great man. I had the privilege of working directly with Mark at 3M for a few of his early years with the company and not only was he professional and thorough, he was such a great person to deal with personally. As he moved on to other areas of the company, he always knew how to make everyone want to succeed, but have fun along the way. All the social events he helped to organize at 3M certainly helped everyone to "enjoy being at work" just a little more. But Mark didn't stop there. His work to brighten the day of others all over London will never be forgotten. Recent surgery will prevent me from being present at the visitation and service, but I wanted to express my sincere condolences to the family.
Terry DalkeTo the Howard family, I have had the great privilege of knowing Mark through 3M, as a work colleague, a fellow ball player, and a friend. I am thankful that my life has been enriched because of Mark, and I am sure that many others have been touched by Mark's kindness. May God grant you his comfort and peace at this difficult time.
ArlanI am so, so sorry for your loss. Mark was a great guy, and will be deeply missed. My family's prayers are with you at this time.
Kim Hyman-HoltRIP old friend. I remember how you used to tie my long hair to the back of my chair in grade one. In grade two you encouraged me to "speak up, don't be shy, I'll be right here." By high school, you reminded me how you shouldn't have encouraged me to come out of my shell because you would say "you found your voice and never forgot it!" I have so many fond memories of you. Thank you for the many years of smiles, laughs, and friendship. You were such a kind, sweet person, with a heart of gold, a smile on your face, and always a kind word for others. Sending our love and condolences to your family from ours. Sincerely, Kim Hyman-Holt and family.
