Gord RossI first met Cathy , Kate as I called her over 20 years ago just after the City annexed us in 93 after a few years we ended up working together at the WROC , we shared a lot of laughs , a few drinks at Hooks and our hockey clubhouse , we plowed streets ,hauled sweepings, fixed roads ,patched roads and there wouldn't be anybody better than Kate to have work beside you , a few years back she left our work area but whenever I heard her kn two way radio always had to say hello to her . She was her own woman and not afraid to stand up for herself , which I admired , she would also put a few guys at work to shame with her work ethics . Kate I'm gonna miss the texts for your street to be plowed or the texts on my birthday which you never forgot . I could go on and on you will always be one of my favorite person I have met at the City . My family sends our condolences to your wife and to rest of your family , I know they meant a lot to you . Sherry AnstettWe ask ourselves at a time like this what is dying? A ship sails and we stand watching till she fades on the horizon, and someone at my side says, "She is gone." Gone? Gone where? Gone from my sight, that is all; she is just as large as when we saw her......The diminished size and total loss of sight is in me, not in her, and just at the moment when someone at my side says "she is gone." there are others who are watching her coming, and other voices take up a glad shout, " there she comes!".......and that is dying thinking of all of you during this difficult time and may it comfort you to know that she will be waiting on the other side for our arrivals.
