Van Schaik, Fred "The Apple Man"

Surrounded by family at University Hospital, Fred peacefully passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2015, in his 82nd year. Fred enjoyed a 60 year marriage with his sweetie Donna. Proud father of Brad (Ruth), Dean, Lori (Bob) and Terri (Craig). Lovingly remembered by 16 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, his sister Dorothy “Toots”, extended family and many friends. Predeceased by three brothers, his mother and father. Fred was well known in the community as “The Apple Man" of the London Covent Garden Market. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Fred are asked to consider LHSF – University Hospital ICU.
