Shaquieal “Shaq” Parkinson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shaquieal Parkinson, affectionately known as “Shaq”, aged 30, who passed away suddenly on Friday, June 7, 2024, just days before his 31st birthday.

Born on June 14, 1993 in Toronto, Shaquieal was the beloved son of Leanne MacMillan and the late Carlton Parkinson. He was a cherished brother to his siblings, Angel, Kierra, Lettechia, Nikkia and Tristan, a devoted uncle to Ashante, Nova and Za’Niyah, and a one-of-a-kind grandson to Hugh and Carol MacMillan. Shaquieal was also a loyal and caring friend to many, known for his gentle soul and generous spirit.

Shaquieal loved to hike the trails of Hamilton where he grew up; he had an adventurous spirit and was always exploring or simply just enjoying time with loved ones. A lover of music and fashion, and a deep affection for animals. He could often be found spending time with his pet cat, “Midnight”.

Despite the challenges he faced, Shaq always strived to bring joy and laughter to those around him. His sense of humour, kindness, and unwavering support for his friends and family will be remembered fondly.

Though Shaquieal’s time with us was far too short, the memories of his laughter, love, and the joy he brought into our lives will remain in our hearts forever. His gentle soul, love for animals and the colour yellow will always remind us of the bright light he brought into the world.

A memorial visitation will be conducted on Friday, June 21, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London.
